Post from July 2014.

Through a wavy-edged filter, a brunette-colored liquid drips into a clear glass pitcher. The liquid begins to pool at the bottom and eventually, it fills the glass to a halfway mark. 4 cups. Somebody tips the liquid into a mug. It steams and the rich scent floats into the air. The smell disperses and the coffee gets drunk.

In the past two weeks I've written this and this and this and more. I love it, I really do. I love talking to people and hearing their stories. Right now, I'm working on a few different articles, all of them really neat. Two rad guys who founded a dance party. A mission trip to Uganda that produced the happiest video. The animals and animal lovers of Mass Street. When I end up sitting down to write, I want to be fully present and intentional about my word choice. I want to craft my sentences with precision and love. I love what I do. But is there such thing as a break?

I stepped into this coffee shop today, for another, and was instantly refreshed (and maybe caffeinated). The primer-white walls and wide windows gave me a newfound inspiration. I guess a coffee break will have to do for now.
