On my 30-minute drive to work, I've been distracted by the changing colors along the way. Bursts of orange, yellow, deep greens, browns. It's all so lovely. On a whim, I pulled off U.S. 59 to find a lookout spot near Lawrence, Kansas. I was the only onlooker at the time with a 360-degree view of the changing landscape, which made for a peaceful end to the day. Besides scanning for fall foliage, here's a few ways I'm setting the season's mood:

// Guide to California desert getaways where you can warm up
// Garlic parmesan roasted potatoes as colorful comfort food
// Patagonia's new line of sweaters and jackets to browse before winter
// A sorta folky playlist for your listening pleasure
// Ominous photos of Iceland in anticipation of that dream trip you're planning/dreaming
// This Instagrammer and photographer is making me jealous
