I've been fortunate enough to have two weeks off before I start my new job, which essentially means I've had two weeks of summer vacation. Oh, how I miss the days when breaks were months long. With the free time, I've managed to balance productive tasks with discovering the city. One morning, I filled out paperwork and did bills. In the afternoon, I nestled in a coffee shop and spent time in a park. 

Without structure, however, I find myself wasting a lot of time. Some people call this "rest," but it drives me crazy. In order to maintain discipline, I've made an effort to exercise daily, keep to-do lists, spread out chores and remind myself I'll never get these two weeks of rest again. At least for a long while. 

In my exploring, here are four things I'm digging.

1 // The Boulder Passport is essentially a BOGO deal for happy hours. Steve bought the passport for Denver and we have yet to accumulate stamps, but we're excited to treat ourselves at breweries and restaurants.

2 // La Sportiva published an article titled "10 Best Hikes in Boulder" that I'm stoked to add to my summer hiking list. I've walked around Chautauqua three times now, so this was a refreshing find.

3 // Red Rocks Amphitheatre, the most gorgeous venue I've ever been in. Steve and I have seen two of four summer shows so far (Chromeo, The Lumineers, Sufjan Stevens, The Head and the Heart). People laud this as a must do when visiting Colorado. They have my vote too. 

4 // Movement Climbing + Fitness isn't just for climbers. Sure, giant walls fitted with colorful holds fill most of the space, but upstairs are classrooms for yoga, cycling and weights. Maybe one day I'll call myself a climber, but for now, I'm good with just being active.
